In 1871, God the Ruler─Sangjenim (“Emperor Above” or “Supreme God”)─descended from His throne in heaven to incarnate on earth as Gang Jeung-san, the son of a humble farming family in the Eastern nation of Korea. During His short time on earth, Sangjenim disassembled and reconstructed heaven and earth to inaugurate a new world for a new humanity: the Paradise of Immortality. His dao partner and successor, Taemonim─“Great Mother”─ensured that Sangjenim’s dao of renewal and hope took root within the world in the form of Jeung San Do, “The Dao of Jeung-san.”
