Dojangs – Dao Centers

All practitioners gather at Jeung San Do’s dojangs, where we share our worship of the teachings during chiseong (“utmost devotion”) ceremonies. A dojang, or “dao center,” is a place of harmony for spiritual learning, worship, and self-cultivation─a sacred place for the imparting of Sangjenim’s and Taemonim’s teachings. Each dojang has a main room called the seongjeon (“sacred shrine”), which contains altars for celestial and terrestrial spirits. Most of the meditation, study, and instruction at a dojang takes place in the seongjeon in the presence of the spirits, making our dojangs truly a place for heaven, earth, spirits, and humans to unite as one.
