I want more people to experience these teachings.

Excerpt from further Thoughts Ria’s Journal. Entry 11-02-03

I have been attending the dojang here in Manilla for the past year and a half. I heard that it was opened long before I came here. It was opened through the efforts of a couple, and from then on, activities for the dissemination of Jeung San Do? teachings here in the Philippines were held one after the other. At first it was a bit dispersed but it slowly gained direction. Then a formal leader was sent. Not long after that I came to know about Jeung San Do. That started it.

Now, we have moved into a new dojang. I was quite happy for this development. I came to have a chance to partake in the new history this new dojang will make. Before, I only knew of the facts through the stories. Now I can get to experience them. I can be a part of the Jeung San Do Manila family. But being a part is not enough. I want to take the role to make a big family. I want more people to experience these teachings. One person had the patience and determination to teach me, up to now. I want to pay that back to more people. The Later Heaven won’t be a happy place without people.

When we moved the dojang, I came to realize that it will be another step toward that goal. But as with everything, I also had my apprehensions and doubts. After experiencing the arduous process of moving, I came to realize that it will be a nice start. It can continue the efforts of the previous years on a strongerground. There will be more apprehensions and trials to follow for sure. But in that one year, that fateful one year that changed my life, I came to understand more things. I believe that this opportunity did not come from one single source. There must be a lot of factors why I am here. Why all of us are here. Isn’t it just enough that we repay and offer gratitude for this opportunity? Trials are just part of the process.

And this is just the start. There is still a lot of work to do. A dojang can’t serve its purpose without people. It will just be a plain building if it can’t serve as a center for spreading Jeung San Do’s teachings. Before, I did’t like being a teacher. But with some twist of fate, I ended up studying to become one. And when I experienced the wonder of teaching, I am happy that fate had put me here. Or maybe because I would share Jeung San Do’s teachings to other people. Whatever the cause may be, I know that I feel fulfillment teaching about these things. I still have a lot to learn, and in that process, I can also share it with others. Now that there is a new place, the system is slowly consolidating. Now, we try to follow a consistent education program.

The new dojang is quite a big place. It can serve as an education center. Currently we are on the trail of constant advertising and outside activities. It can be tiring, but it’s fun as well. Anything from the truth can be enjoyable. To develop this place needs patience and determination, because we have to start from scratch. We have to have an appropriate amount of exposure. How? By advertisements and meeting people, we plan to make the education more systematized and fit for the audience. That is why these days, we are quite busy with a lot of things, because besides doing the program, there is the daily dojang education that we have to study too. Sometimes it can get to you. But after a brief contemplation, you realize the importance of this opportunity. I always do. That is why I want to do this. Any possible way of reaching to people should be explored. I will continue the things I have been doing now, like using mailings, e-mail, personally meeting people, and calling on them as well. Anything can be possible. You just have to be determined. And patient. There are people who are harder to convince than others. There will always be people like that.

Though doing workshops, following a system for our education, advertizing and constantly meeting people to talk about Jeung San Do’s truth, plus a lot of patience and hardwork and the guiding hands of Sahng-jeh-nim, Tae-mo-nim, Tae-sa-bu-nim, Sa-bu-nim and all the spirits, especially the one in this place, can slowly lead us to development. All we have to do is to take one step at a time. Slowly but surely, we can achieve our goal.
